So living in the Midwest we always get a variety of weather events, and pretty much from Mid February- Mid December we can see anything from super hot, to super cold.

In the past month we have had a foot of snow at once. SEveral other snow storms leaving a dusting to several inches, and some super cold. This morning it was -0.5 when I got up, and tomorrow it is supposed to be colder.

Enough. I need some warm sunshine, and this crappy weather to go away.

Anyone else feel this way?

I am finding it particularly hard this winter too. I am outside a lot and walk with a neighbour every morning. We can't walk, the trips to the bus stop are miserable and we all stand in a huddle. The dog is going nuts with cabin fever but we can't walk him in this. We even gave in and tried yesterday but he ran back inside. Poor thing. I'm Canadian. I do winter. But this has been something else.

Count me in.

The snow hasn't been so bad, but the cold temps are just brutal! I cringe every time the heating bill comes in.

This year is the first time our school district has, multiple times, canceled school due to extreme temps, in the 20+ years we've had kids enrolled.

Thanks for sharing Canada...not!

No problem, the more the merrier.

We get some brutal winters but I don't ever remember the kids being kept in this much. They still go to school but there is days upon days that they have been kept in for every recess. I bet teachers around here are ready to quit.

We don't have much snow, just a dusting, but I can't recall when we're had so many days of freaking frigidity. I'm ready for warmer climes. I might just have to book a DR flight.

Honestly I don't think I've ever seen so many overconfident drivers here in the east. It must be the lack of snow the last few winters.

Cold here here in Steeler country.

My entire commute this morning was on black ice. 10mph and still slid at every stop - in my AWD Gmc.

My corgis don't mind the cold, but I'm only able to let them out on the weekends. We take multiple brisk walks when we can. I'm tired of throwing the tennis ball in the house.

I have a black lab that will break ice to swim and retrieve ducks. The ground with it's dusting of snow was so cold this morning she looked like she had a broken leg or back or something, it was hurting her poor feet.

It just sucks. SMY, great pic. I'm thinking of taking a few emergency days off, and flying down to Ft. Meyers to see the Crazy parents.

Definitely hitting the tanning bed today. I need to get my bones warmed up.

emergency PSA's "STAY THE HELL HOME!! YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE IN THIS WEATHER!! YOU'RE GOING TO ALL DIE!!!!!"

Even with the heat jacked up it's so cold that we are using a space heater.

When I turned it off, our foster kitty got up, walked over to it, looked at it, looked at me, and sat back down. Point taken, kitty.

Yes tushnurse! Mine is a chocolate lab and I've seen him swim in some frigid water but he limps on the ground right now. I bought this cream that provides a barrier on his paw pads. However, it doesn't really work because it's safe to eat, so I put it on, and he licks it off before we can get outside .

DS - You are hysterical. And for God's sake I hope you went and got your French toast fixins (milk bread and eggs) for you non blizzard panic folks.

Meta - That sounds like a lab. LOL. This is the very first time I have seen her do this, I think between the snow and the extreme cold it was too much. I wouldn't waste my time with the cream stuff, because she would lick it off as fast as I applied it, I may put some beeswax on her feet tonight though, if she is still acting like they are sore.

My guess is her little pads are chapped, her and my DS went and played in the woods a long time on Monday. Poor baby. She wants it warm.

I hail from the Midwest, but I'm now acclimated to warm weather.

I'm grateful that today was 71 degrees F.

But, maybe if y'all take a gander at my Mexican hot chocolate recipe, you will be able to warm up some and brave the cold weather till it warms up in April!

Or y'all can come visit me in AZ!
