I'm praying this works out in your son's favor. 9 years old and suicidal with guns on the counter. This is terrifying. (((((AD))))) May this get resolved soon. Good for you for standing up for your kid.
This has to STOP NOW.
As a gun owner, and both spouse and I being CCW we have taught our kids about guns and gun safety. HOWEVER..... When our oldest was having some serious emotional stressors, and confessed thoughts of self harm, and self harm we went on high alert lock down. Including not just locking guns up but separating the ammo from the weapons in such a manner that if he found a way to get to one, it wouldn't matter because he could NOT get to the other.
A kid of 9 lacks the insight into the permanence of suicide.
I am praying for a quick resolution and positive outcome for your boy. This saddens me, and makes me just want to smack the shit out of your CXW, and her BF.
Keep us up to date. Please.
Let that boy know you love him.

DCF has been called to investigate the gun situation today.
XW is trying to prevent DS from seeing his therapist because he called out XW and AP on their behaviors and their unwavering blameshifting to DS for his misery and subsequent acting out.
I'm assuming that I will inevitably be in court in a custody battle.

Go for full physical and legal custody, with minimal, SUPERVISED visits for CXW (only, not with OM) in a neutral location.
A suicidal person of ANY age should not have ready access to a gun. And asshole OM doesn't even see the need to lock it up when kids are around?????
Your precious DS wants it to stop hurting. Put the focus there before it is too late.
I am so sorry for this shitstorm you, DS and DD are being put through by the two of them.
