Where do you shop for clothes?

I am finding it increasingly difficult and time consuming to find anything I like. I mostly wear casual clothing.

I live in a rural area so most of my shopping has to be done online.

I realise this isn't really a problem. I'm just interested to hear what stores you have luck with.

I am more inclined to wear vintage, so I tend to shop etsy. Sometimes the thrift stores, but where I live the thrift stores arent great, in terms of clothing.

I have to dress up for work, a lot of what I wore to work previously came from dress barn, high quality clothing that fit consistently.

Now I'm not sure what I will do since they are out of business.

I like the jeans that Old Navy sells. They are relatively cheap and hold up. I wear a lot of t-shirts on weekends, so have a wide variety.

I did just recently buy some super cheap skorts and dry weave shirts on line from Academy Sports, they were on clearance, they were their store brand, and everything was true to size, and I like.

For work, I like Banana Republic and White House Black Market. I also like Everlane. And I shop a lot on QVC....A LOT.

I think if you can go more casual, Athleta has clothes that are quasi activewear. Their dresses are comfy and fantastic.. I rarely shop in stores anymore.

I'm short (not petite!) and have biggish boobs, narrow shoulders, curvy body. It's hard to find stuff that fits right. I tend to find a style I like and buy several, often finding the same piece on line. I went to an expensive bra shop, dropped $170 on two bras, wore them and decided they were good. I found the same ones online for far less money.

I hate shopping.

I like Old Navy jeans but it looks like they don't make my favourites anymore.

I have tried some of the stores like Nordstrom but if I don't have a brand or know exactly what I want I find it very overwhelming.

I will check out Athleta. I like casual activewear but find the tops are usually cut to narrow in the middle. I need to lose about twenty pounds. I'm very self conscious about my middle.

I could start a whole thread on bras. Lionne, care to share the brand that you found you like?

H&M. I looooove H&M, especially their basics.

Yes, fast/disposable fashion is bad for the environment, but I'm not stocking up on peplum tops and whatever the newest trend is. I have plain tshirts and cardigans for them that I've wore for years.

Also, they almost always have sales and clearances going on, so I like to load of my online cart and then check back a few times to see if the price drops before purchasing.

I will say that their sizes used to run consistently a size smaller than other brands (so if I was a 6 at Old Navy or Target, I was an 8 or 10 at H&M), but supposedly they've recently tweaked their sizing? Haven't had a chance to go try stuff on in store though since they've done that.

I tend to find stuff that fits best at Kohl’s. I am very short but their clothes work ok on my frame.

I do like to go to thrift stores to find expensive stuff that’s super cheap once in a while. I’ve found a kate spade purse for under $10 two times ! Once a woman looked at me and said, “even if you don’t need it you should buy it... it’s kate spade!! “.

My area is rural as well and we have a lot of nice consignment stores that make thrift shopping easy

I don’t know of any stores that don’t have online shoping. I would do an online search and from there, just visit various store sites and look for things you like. Add your email to their sites as well. You’ll get emails about new products, sales etc. I don’t necessarily have one store I like; I tend to search for specific types of items and go with what I like. You can always send back if it doesn’t work out for you.

I am very casual, yoga pants or joggers and tshirts every day. I am not thin. I really like Reebok. I was getting that at Dick's Sporting goods, but they don't sell Reebok anymore. They have their own line to replace it. I was told it is the exact same clothing, just without the Reebok name. Dick's made the clothing and paid to put the Reebok name on it. I bought one pair of their joggers and they do seem to be exactly the same. You can order from Dick's online. (And, it costs way less than Athleta.)

I wear either jeans or khakis every day. Golf shirts when it's hot out, and long sleeve t's (sometimes with a vest) or sweaters when it's cold out. I tend to find tops I like, and then buy it in several different colors. I usually shop at Belk, Talbots when they have good sales. I also buy stuff from Poshmark, thredup, and ebay online.

If you have amazon prime you are eligible for Prime wardrobe ,allows you to order, try it on and return free of charge.

I am a terrible shopper...I don’t have much time for shopping for myself, and I really just don’t enjoy it. A few years ago I signed up for Stitch Fix and I love it! You answer a bunch of questions about size, personal preferences on colors and styles, select how often you want to receive a box (I chose every 3 months, so I get new pieces every season, but you can choose more or less frequency), and then you get 5 new pieces every delivery. You can opt not to get things you don’t need (for me, that’s jewelry and shoes), and with every delivery you get 5 pieces. You can keep all, none, or just a few. I mostly tend to keep all of mine because of the $$ savings involved with that.

I like StitchFix also. And I like to wear dresses - nothing quicker or easier! And I wear a few styles for LuLaRoe. When you find style/size that works, they have new colors and patterns constantly. Also super comfy leggings :-) but I can’t wear those to work. And TJ Max especially for shoes.

Try the thrift store closer to you! You won’t regret it.
