WhatsRight, I see how you may have gotten confused.
The first note on this thread mentions 5000-ish cards as the record, but that was total cards. So if 51 people sign up, then you need to write out 50 cards, and handle the postage for that many. 50 other people do the same, so that's 50x50 cards, or 2500. 60x60 would be 3600, and if 70 people signed up, it would be 4900.
So about 70 cards would be in record territory.
For U.S. members such as yourself, you would provide all the stamps. Most would be your basic 1st class postage, but you would have to pay for international stamps for the members outside the U.S. Foreign members would have to provide money for U.S. postage.

WhatsRight, that's correct as I understand it. Everyone who signs up gets a card from every other member who signed up. No one can be added to (or omitted from) the list you receive from the elves.
