After years of knee pain, about 20, I finally have the ability, insurance to have it replaced.
They were scheduling for May but I received a call last week that there was a cancellation for February 24th. I took that date.
I had to rush to get everything in order. Work, physical, blood work.
Had my physical yesterday. Right blocked bundle branch. I am nervous. I was just getting comfortable with doing the knee, sort of. Lots of stress around it. Out of work, being so dependent on SO is not comfortable for me. I do know in my head that he will be fine. It's the old life fear rearing it's head.
Anyway, how bad is this? Will I have to cancel knee? Have to have more testing before knowing this.
Just was not expecting this.
Anyone with experience your input is appreciated!

I just heard of it yesterday. The heart has a right and left branch that electrical impulses travel through. The right one is not working properly.
Ever since those events in 2012, I've been having heart palpitations. It has gotten better. I just chalked it up to stress. I tried to ignore it.
Now I'm feeling foolish and scared.

(((Can))))
Hang in there. RBBB (Right Bundle Branch Block) is typically no big deal, but you should have a cardiac workup prior to surgery.
That means a stress test, just to be sure everything is fine and that you don't need medication to help regulate it.
Often RBBB is no big deal, and just is monitored. It basically means the electrical impluse from the Right sided node is a little slow to travel from it to the atria.
Deep breath probably nothing.
You should have a stress test. Additionally you will may have to delay back to original date d/t need for additional testing. If your surgeon says eh don't worry about it, call your PCP and ask for a stress test. PLEASE.
The surgeon (and I work with ortho guys every single day) doesn't care much about your heart, their focus is the joint they are working on. Anesthesia will probably approve you too, but I would encourage you to have further testing, for peace of mind.

Hi Tush! I was so hoping that you would be on here today!
I was at PCP yesterday. He is trying to get me in for testing fast so I don't have to delay knee surgery.
Probably cannot do stress test as knée won't allow. It is bad. Bone on bone, no cartilage left. Can hardly walk never mind jog. He said something about a dye test? I think I kind of went numb and didn't hear everything.
I will not have surgery until I get more testing and info.
Thank you so much!

The hospital that treated my mom did a chemically driven stress test when she couldn't do the treadmill version.

You can have a stress test and not have to walk. They test your heart with drugs.
However it sounds like he is talking about a cardiac catheterization of he mentioned dye. This is a gold standard to test vessel blockages but would not show anything to do with you heart rhythm.
One concern about having a BBB is will you be prone to afib if stressed. A lot of people go into afib with no warning and is treated with meds.
Keep us updated.

Having a cardiac pefusion test on Monday and Tuesday. They are squeezing me in so going to do half without drug on day one and second day with drug. Guess I just have to see how that goes and then whatever next step is required.

You got this Can -
They like to break it up to see how you do without stress, and with stress, and how you recover from stress. The first day is for the baseline.
Good Luck. Here's to hoping it's all a "no big deal" thing for you.

I second Sisoon -Actually if they gave you the exercises you need to do after surgery - start doing them now. Even a few days before surgery makes a difference.

Thank you all for the support, encouragment and the hugs!
My original plan, with the expectation that surgery would be sometime in March, was to really work on strengthening my bad leg and to lose 20 pounds. Then I find that they are booked until the end of May but would call if they had a cancellation. I have been exersizing, using both legs on sstairs, even though it really hurts. I noticed the one thigh is starting to shrink, get weaker.
I just got the call last Tuesday that there was an opening on the 24th. It feels very rushed but the timing with California trip/wedding made me decide to just do it.
I was able to get work sorted. Got the appointments. Thought it was going to work. Now I feel so stressed with this heart issue. It feels a bit overwhelming, too much, just feel out of control.
Guess I just need to take it one day at a time. I like to plan! I won't even know if this is an issue until after Tuesday.
Oh well, it will be what it is. I should be used to surprises! Sure had some big ones in life.

I know!!!! I feel all lighted headed, heart fluttery waiting!
Cardiology nurse yesterday said definite blocked right bundle. Why is the big question.
Also, that drug they give you to dilate blood vessels is awful. Headache, vomiting light headed. Never felt like that while exercising.

To be fair, nurse apologized and said she did not know how to read that test. Then again, wouldn't it be summarized by cardiologist???
