Does anyone have an experience with CBD Oil or Cream or Gummies...

I have back pain, lower back, Sciatica area.... I get regular massage therapy to help with it.

A friend suggested CBD supplements to help relieve the pain.

I'm leery of "new age" treatments and supplements. But I thought I'd at least investigate it.

Have you ever tried Rolfing? I’m a runner and about 3 years ago I got this random excruciating pain that started in my low back and stopped behind my knee on one side. Sometimes it would drop me to the ground. It was not sciatica though, but definitely nerve issue.

I went to my PCP, tried sports massage, ice, acupuncture, rest, etc. for 4 months. I mentioned it to my GFs and two of them instantly said the the person they use!

If I recall within 3 visits I was completely pain free. It’s intense, but I recommend it all the time when I hear things like your situation.

Research it, Yelp for a good practitioner hopefully in your area maybe? Good luck.

I just started using cbd oil that my rheumatologist sold me. It really helps with my back pain and fibromyalgia. It doesn't make me feel high it just sort of eases my pain. Its really subtle in how it works.

Before taking it for carpal tunnel surgery, I believed it to be a quack drug, something only a pothead would attest to.

Today, I will take it anytime I feel pain from inflammation. I had carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists. The first time, my left wrist, i took nothing (my PTSD, i will refuse to take anything that impairs my senses). Several hours after surgery when the pain meds wore off, my hand was so swollen, I couldn't shut it and my fingers were so fat that they pushed each other apart and were spread wide. It felt like hot searing throbbing for 3.5 days. I just toughed through it and slept a lot...when I could.

The second surgery, my right wrist, the doctor gave me a 3 day authorization (I had a TS clearance). Man it was like night and day. I could close my hand, the swelling was minimal, and I was driving to the grocery store and one hand handling the groceries like a champ. On a scale of 1 to 10, my pain level was at maybe a 3.

I have degenerative disk disease now. I take it when i overdo it and my back is killing me.

I don't know how effective it will be for nerve damage. You'll have to consult with your physician. But for pain from swelling, it's amazing. I don't like the creams. For me they don't work.

And, best of all, I don't feel medicated even the slightest. Bonus, it helps a little with my anxiety too.

Sometimes I think we need CBD consultants. What formulation do you use for which uses? I have debilitating anxiety, and have had several people tell me I should try it. Thing is, I am on so many other medications (three for psych) that I worry about how CBD would interfere with those.

I mean, there's oil, cream, gummies, food products, drops, etc. If you want to try it for anxiety, how do you know what to use? I've never discussed it with my psychiatrist and don't know if I would.

Dont forget the vape version.

Omg when I had the sinus infection was on multiple rounds of antibiotics and not even morphine was helping with the pain one of the guys at the vape store suggested the CBD vape juice. I didnt want to get high and he assured me I wouldn't.

Pain gone in minutes!

I went from taking so much tylenol, advil, and aspirin on top of the prescribed pain meds to the point one ER doc said I was nearing kidney failure, to a few puffs here and there and zero pain.

I only ever bought the one bottle and it was small. And expensive. But it worked. I'm seriously considering it again for the migraines I'm getting.

For those who have tried CBD oil without THC, has it worked for inflammation, sleep and/or anxiety?

Different drugs work differently on people, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

For me, cbd without THC worked great on my pain from inflammation. See my post about the same exact surgery with and without CBD.

As for help with sleep, I couldn't say because I rarely have a problem falling asleep within 10 minutes.

However, I do know that it helped significantly with my own PTSD anxiety. My anxiety may be different and hit different parts of the brain. I'm always "on." I go over lists constantly and then go over them again and again. I constantly have an internal dialog of what I did, what I'm going to do today, and what I need to do after that is done. I make constant lists in my head, grocery lists, to do lists, bill lists, debt repayment plans. And then I revise them. I am ALWAYS checking behind me and my peripheral, even when I look like I'm not looking at anything, then I'm listening for footsteps. And it doesn't shut off even sometimes when I sleep. My ex and my kids say I used to wake up even in the middle of the night when they tiptoe by the room.

Even if your anxiety mimics much of what I describe, it doesn't mean that cbd sans THC will work for you. But it worked for me. I took it for the inflammation and pain of surgery and for those 4 nights I slept, no anxiety waking me up, and I turned halfway "off" for all 4 days. I was pleasantly surprised by the bonus relief.

So if it sounds like something you think might help, talk with your doctor. I would never have taken it without seeing my doctor first.

DragnHeart, I have severe asthma, so unfortunately I could never use vape for any respiratory inflammation. But great idea for those that can do it that way too.

I have RA (that's what we have settled on for now) and I have used quality CBD oils in the past and honestly I didn't see much of a change in pain or inflammation. Definitely saw a decrease in anxiety though.

I'm on the fence with CBD.

I have a lot of nerve damage and truly, there's not a damn thing that helps that. Unless I want to take heroin. Which I don't lol

It has helped some overall, but I'd rather just smoke some pot at bedtime. CBD works better with a little THC.

That all being said, there are some good companies out there. My acupuncturist has a few different brands.

We also did a lot of research into the brand's. Swiss Relief is one of the few that guarantee you will not test positive for THC. We see a lot of people who work for the state and have to pass drug tests. Quite a bit of what is on tbe market hve0 a neglible amount of THC and they do warn people about it.

The other brand I like is CBD Plus. I have used both and the two I mentioned are good.

Hope that helps.

Thanks everyone for your input.

THC is not legal where I am, not even medical but I’m not worried about availability or employment problems. I did not enjoy my few recreational pot experiences not bad just eh, don’t see what the big deal is. I did get some awesome pain relief from 1/4 of a muffin once. I don’t want to inhale anything. I have carpal tunnel syndrome, that mostly bothers me on my bike sleeping and writing otherwise it’s manageable. Anxiety is definitely affair related, I’m normally a super laid back person. Sleep is a long term problem exaggerated by affair related anxiety.

Since I used vaping to quit smoking and was the only version of CBD I have tried I thought I'd mention it.

I did get the contact info from a friend for where she gets her gummies. I didnt even realize she did that lol.

I have smoked pot and honestly I hated it. I do not need anything encouraging me to eat. If anything I need something to kill the appetite lol.

If I ever get into that much pain again I wont hesitate to get the vape juice.

I am hesitant to get.gummies because my kids vitamins are all gummies. As careful ad I am hiding things I just wont risk that.

I just started Medical Marijuana last week. It is a game changer. I’m on a low dose and I don’t take it every day but it has given me easier and longer sleep, less pain and more energy. I am optimistic about this and as a person who has never even smoked it as a teen I was apprehensive. In fact I had the license and the product for close to a month before I used it the first time. I take it in pill form but there are three others that are legal in my state.

I have fibromyalgia, intractable migraine and the dr believes Sjogrens or RA but neither comes up definitive. If it’s legal in your state, definitely consult a doctor about it. I have the CBD infused lotion and it doesn’t do anything for my pain. I got it at the dispensary also and it wasn’t cheap.

I'm what I refer to as wound pretty tight. I have ADHD, and probably mild anxiety, but more driven from the ADHD. But I found the best thing to help me through the anxiety and sleep issues is a super low dose of ativan (a benzodiazepine). I had always had sleep issues, so when I got the med during the A time, I found it helped me tremendously. Luckily my Dr agrees and Rx's it as needed.

CBD works better with a little THC.

This is what I have heard too... I have also heard that some CBD contains THC in it too, even though they don't say it and it's not legal (this comes from professional golfers who took CBD to help their aches/pains, only to test positive for THC).

I will say this... THC is also very helpful for pain management. You still feel the pain, but you tend to not care about the pain. This can be really helpful if your pain is keeping you from sleeping...

I work in an acupuncture office and we carry CBD.

We did a lot of research. Some brands do have a warning that despite being a negligible amoung of THC (like 0.003% I think) if you are required to have UA's, don't take their product.

I imagine it's because THC is stored in fat cells and builds up over time with repeated use.

Thats why I wanted to mention it. There are brands that are guaranteed THC free so there are options.

My neurologist tells me to smoke pot. He's so funny. I smoke it for pain so I can sleep at night. I like to listen to books and it helps me focus on something other than pain.
